Qualifications:

Amy Law joined Tay Chambers as a Consultant in January 2025. 

Since obtaining her LLB from Brunel University of West London, Amy has earned clients’ trust and built a decades-long reputation as a tenacious litigator in both civil and criminal law. As a senior barrister with over 34 years in the legal field and a wealth of experience, she is highly respected for her unwavering commitment to client success, bringing sharp and practical insight to her work and the firm. 

Throughout her distinguished career, Amy conducted civil litigation trials in all levels of the Malaysian courts, including the Federal Court. Her areas of practice span a vast range of legal disciplines, including Matrimonial and Divorce law, Child Custody and Adoption, Employment and Industrial Court law, Company Winding Up, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Proceedings, Probate & Administration, Banking and Commercial litigation. 

Amy has drafted various types of commercial contracts, Joint Venture Agreements, settlement agreements, wills & trusts, and company employment contracts. In addition, Amy has provided legal advisory and consulting services to large multinational corporations across the steel manufacturing, construction, garment, and food & beverage industries.

In the realm of criminal litigation, Amy has represented clients in various high-profile cases, including death penalty matters such as drug smuggling and murder trials. She has also taken on pro bono cases assigned by the Malaysian Government, including appeals against death sentences before the Appellate and Federal Courts.

Deeply passionate about representing clients from all walks of life, Amy brings a genuine commitment to understanding and resolving unique challenges.
